Genetic Linkage Map


Genetic linkage map, constructed from a population segregation, has become a vital tool in different species for identifying quantitative trait locus (QTL) analysis, promoting the quality of genome assembly and assisting crop breeding . In recent years, the application of next generation sequencing (NGS) strategy made it possible to develop millions single nucleotide polymorphism (SNP) markers at once. Based on SNPs, a high-density genetic map with thousands of markers, even more, could be constructed for revealing the genetic basis of different interesting traits, such as disease resistance, growth habits, fruit quality, sex determination and so on.

Data analysis Pipeline



1. Highmap: a kind of software that was widely used for construction of linkage map was developed independently by Biomarker.

2. SLAF-seq: Specifc Length Amplifed Fragment sequencing, developed independently by Biomarker, is a efficient strategy for discovery of large scale SNP markers in a short time and and is a high-throughput, high accuracy and low cost method.

3. Analysis experience: we have constructed hundreds of linkage maps in recent years for nearly one hundred of species

4. Publications: More than 100 linkage map articles were published using our method and the cumulative impact factor of all papers was mare than 360.
